AASC offers congregate meal services at eight sites and provides technical assistance to 13 senior clubs.  The congregate meal site participants enjoy a hot lunch at noon, recreational activities, and trips to local shopping malls and restaurants.  We host nutrition and health programs and screenings on a regular basis.

The following congregate sites operate Monday and Tuesday from 10 am to 1 pm: Grundy, Tazewell, Dante, Swords Creek, Clintwood and Richlands.  The Clinchco site is open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm.  The Pocahontas site operates from 10 am to 1 pm on Thursday and Friday.

In order to receive service through the congregate meals program, you must meet the following requirements:

• Live in Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell or Tazewell county.

• Be at least sixty years old.

• Be mobile and physically, mentally, and medically able to attend the congregate meals program.

We will give priority to older individuals with the greatest economic and social need
