AASC's home delivered meals program provides homebound elderly, particularly
those with low incomes, nutritious and healthy meals delivered to their homes.
We provide one hot, frozen, or canned meal per day, seven days a week, to each
client.
In order to receive services through the home delivered meals program, you must
meet the following requirements:
Live in Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell or Tazewell
county
Be at least sixty years old and homebound
(Homebound is defined as someone unable to leave home to attend regular social
activities. You may be able to go to medical appointments with escort
assistance.)
You must be able to prepare meals and have no one
available to prepare meals for you.
You must be able to remain safely at home, with
home delivered meals as a support services.
We give priority to
older individuals with the greatest economic and social need, giving preference
to low-income, minority clients.
We will give priority to older individuals with the
greatest economic and social need.
