Generations operates adult day care services at Cedar Bluff and Haysi. The Cedar Bluff facility provides services for participants in Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell counties. The Haysi facility provides services for Dickenson, Buchanan, and Russell County participants. Our skilled staff creates individual care plans for participants. Staff includes a supervisor, activities director, registered nurse, and personal care attendants. Participants receive recreation, socialization, health monitoring and medication management in a home-like environment. Each day we serve a USDA-approved breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Generations collaborates with the AllCARE for Seniors PACE program. Through this partnership, AllCARE participants receive socialization, in conjunction with therapy and medical services while they attend day care. Generations at Cedar Bluff also provides preschool, as well as before- and after-school programs, all in an intergenerational atmosphere. Together, children and adults have participated in special activities, including a pen pal program and a celebration of our Appalachian heritage. We continue to offer training and support sessions to caregivers throughout our service area. Generations partners with Southwest Virginia Community College and Old Dominion University to provide real-life work experience to students pursuing careers in nursing and human services.
