Experience
Education and
experience required to be a medical doctor, licensed
to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia; minimum one (1) year experience
with geriatrics is required; previous related medical administrative experience
of five+ years preferred.
Job Summary
Within
established policies, assumes responsibility for clinical operations of the
primary PACE Center and alternative sites, including delivery of primary care
to patients.
Typical Duties
Participates
fully in the development, implementation, and revision of the Program of All
Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE); advises administrative staff in
organizational development for clinical operations, providing for the efficient
utilization of personnel in carrying out the goals and objectives the PACE;
assures quality of care is maintained; directs clinical personnel in a manner
that achieves continuous progress toward goals; maintains acceptable clinical
standards of care and enforces established policies and procedures; manages
after-hours care arrangements according to established policies and agreements;
recommends continuing education for clinical staff; advises the Program
Director in matters involving budget, personnel, equipment and facility needs;
works with administrative staff to maintain the financial viability of the
center; assists the Program Director in developing and implementing polices
required in PACE regulations and/or board of directors; participates in
interdisciplinary team meetings; participates in meetings (internal and
external) that may be required to accomplish the mission of the center; ensures
risk management programs are adequate to protect patients and staff; promotes
good public relations; cultivates cooperative relationships with the health
care community; works to develop and maintain a network of referral sources;
maintains and updates professional knowledge and skills through continuing
medical education programs; performs the duties of Medical Director in the
delivery of primary care services to participants of the program during
scheduled times.
